Statement:
My artistic work is based on a building industry vision; that is conceptualized, hi-jacked and replayed -on themes such as urban survival, imprisonment, housing of the future, limits and constraint of territory- in a relationship that gathers human life, power, poetry and technology.
Currently, I create new experiments works in France and Germany, sculptures, capsules, videos... that are often exhibited in contemporary art places (“La force de l’art” au Grand Palais, Galerie Verney-Carron, Biennale de Lyon, Salon de la mode...)
Vita / Lebenslauf:
Born in 1976 in a building engineer’s tradition family near Paris, I leave Highschool and my planned destiny in 1993 for the “punk life” with esthetic claim, and provocation in reaction towards conformist society. I work as a building handworker in my early years, practice sculpture and study Stone carving.
Following my sense for art in construction, I enter the Paris-Malaquais Architecture school in les Beaux-Arts with Pr.Claude Lévêque et Dr.Jean Attali. I become Architect MArch DPLG. At the same time pass a Philosophy MPhil, in Paris 8.
My interest for a non-conformist architecture and construction practice appears along with artistic, policical and social concerns. I call “sculptures” my architectural projects. I win a Monbusho scholarship in Tokyo, where I live from 2003 to 2006, and pass a Master in Architectural Design at Tokyo Institute of Technology. Japan gives me a new look on Society, and I start working there as a visual artist/architect. Interessed by the Japanese homeless question, supported and exhibited at Agnès B. Tokyo, I create the “Houseless Project”and the human capsules, in connection with the living in public space. I also stay several times in China, where I work on social landscape photography project together with the designer Paul Smith at Tokyo Designers’ Block.
