Statement:
My work always has a story from a place I've been or imagined and it is always a creative reaction to my environment and experience. My work manifests a great variety of content and style. This is because I am either easily bored by some of the things I have done (after I do them), or because I am frequently inspired by new ideas, or both.
Vita / Lebenslauf:
I have been a professional artist for over 36 years. I currently do only fine art (largely watercolor paintings, graphite drawings, commission portraits, and civic murals) but was also at one time a commercial illustrator. I also teach art.
I earned my Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from the University of Colorado and a Masters of Art (Studio and Education) from the State University of New York at New Paltz.
I have exhibited in museums and galleries in San Francisco, Denver, Washington DC, New York city and Woodstock NY, and London UK.
My work is an eclectic mix of realistic, abstract, and non-objective content that derives from my life experience, a variety of inspirations, and my mood at the time I created it. The work varies from representational to expressionistic to surreal.
