Ron was born in Toronto Ontario and then raised in southern Ontario but has made the West Kootenays British Columbia his home. Ron has had a passion for art since the young age of ten with his drawing. This passion led him to the field of Mechanical Design. Starting machine design back in the years when drafting was done by hand on drafting boards and hand sketching machines and parts has helped develop his artistic skills over the years. The move to British Columbia has greatly inspired his painting, with a new subject to paint around every corner with his love of the mountains. His passion for painting and the great outdoors go hand in hand. Ron captivates the viewers attention with his very unique impression/surrealism style while capturing the beautiful bold colors of nature. In the early years Ron painted with watercolor and oils but he prefers the quality and characteristics of acrylics as well as the acrylics being environmentally friendly. Ron is an active status member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA).
He has displayed his paintings in a variety of juried shows for the FCA, local Galleries and artwalks. His painting can be viewed at the Rouge Gallery in Rossland, The Kootenay Gallery in Castlegar and the VISAC gallery in Trail.
