ROMY NARDI\'S BIOGRAPHY
Romy Nardi was born in Sant\'Antimo, a small town near Naples, on december 5th 1961. Romy has continued to develop her childhood dream and passion of becoming an artist, through her irresistible enthusiasm of colour and art. It is because of the great love of art that she has, which inspired her to enrol into the ‘Liceo Artistico di Aversa,\' a popular school of art, whereby Romy graduated with a diploma and merit award in 1980.
Following, Romy moves to Rome where she continues her studies at ‘La Scuola di pittura\' (the school of art) run by Silvio Bicchi. In completion of this path, Romy enrols into a course of ‘interior design.\' In 1983, Romy worked as an ingraver of precious stones for the famous company, Bulgari. After a change of heart in the late 1990\'s, Romoletta returns to her passion of art and attends \"Scuola libera del nudo\" (a non nudist school) directed by Roberto Donatelli and Ernesto Pugliese , from 1999-2004.
It was from that moment that her artistic carrier took off. In 2000 - 2001, Romy took part in various art exhibitions held at ‘l\'Accademia di Belle Arti,\' with thanks to Roberto Donatelli. It was in 2003 that Romys painting of ‘Sophie\' was selected to be on the front cover of the book ‘Racconti di Donne\'.
In the meantime, her fame takes her beyond Naples. In 2005 she exibits her work ‘Horror Perpetual\', at Hype Gallery, in Amsterdam, wherey it remains permanently. It is with this that in 2005 Romy decides to hold her own exhibition in Sant\'Antimo, having on show all her art pieces and colthing collection (to which she creates designs on). ROMY NARDI: LIFE AND WORKS
ROMY NARDI\'S EXIBITION IN NAPLES, AT CASTEL NUOVO BUILDING
From : Nicola ODDATI Cultural olderman
Naples Town Hall has been given the opportunity to shine with Romy Nardi\'s artistic expressions of the word. Through her passion and abstract visions of life we become aware of diversity in opinions, through an artsists creative eye. Romy gives life to an art which expresses individuality and self acceptance in a way reality doesn\'t. These abstract images of life are full of complex meaning, not seen in every day living. It is in her way of painting, that gives rise to a different take on reality.
Romy\'s masterpieces teach the importance of individual value. With each art piece having it\'s own unique style and significance, Romy has been able to portray rich and powerful meanings, each influenced by Naples...The city of great beauty and density. Romy believes that history have has created a single dimension of being human, which at times influences and limits people to see and accept the world for what it really is.
It is rare to see truth in the faces of those who have fought and lived through war, as they rarely and hesitantly show their inner selves, but as Romy\'s work proves, she looks into the eyes of a person and sees their soul. She manages to capture the feeling of a moment, in exchancing glances with her inspirations. Romy paints what two souls exchange without using words, by seeing the truth in eyes of the beholder. This is what makes Romys art work stand out, her ability to translate emotions.
Romy Nardi\'s work reveals to the public a different understanding of life. Her art expresses truth, in an abstaract manner beyond materialism. Romy captures the saddness and pain felt amongst individuals, by taking what influences these emotions and manipulating them into an art piece...looking beyond material possessions. Romy searches deep into the souls history, before creating a modern piece of art which focusses on both current and past life influences. Romy has the skills to create a common balance between the past and the present, making her work special and full of meaning. Her art work expresses what at times is not visible, and this is why her work is so incredible.
