Does the genetic manipulation which aims at building a new human gender mean something or is it the denial of our own defects and our diversity? Is perfection synonymous with homogeneity or diversity?
My work is a combination of photography, graphic design and representational painting. Most of my paintings show a gradation of grey shades brightens up by a colourful stroke.
Irrespective of gender, race, age or religion, my reasoning process consists in mixing on an unique face different part of various human beings, in order to create a person of a new gender. Through these hybrid and mutant creatures, I intend to show that everyone is “multifaceted”. (See. Patchwork Etat d’humeur).
My pictorial compositions are hypothetic and have ad infinitum multiplicable solutions.
Through my work, I finally intend to make reference to two current issues of our society: genetic manipulation and the intermingling of populations.
In front of my paintings, everyone is free to consider as a success or a failure the process of selection of what is the best and the worst in ourselves.
Could the intermingling of populations or the mix of phenotypes, considered as all the characteristics of a human being (colour of skin, eyes, morphology…), become the ideal society of the future?
