Vita / Lebenslauf:
Born of Dutch father and Italian mother, Marta Nijhuis was raised in Milan, where she attended Art College, spent an apprentissage period at several painting ateliers and achieved a BA in Philosophy and an MA in Philosophical Sciences at the State University. By moving to France, she enriched her preparation with a period of studies at the “Université Jean Moulin” of Lyon.
At present, she works as a painter and a photographer between France and Italy, and collaborates with various Lyonese Universities as a lecturer of Aesthetics and Theory of Images.
Her paintings and drawings, which have often been used as cover sleeve images for books and scientific reviews, have been exposed in several Italian art galleries and cultural associations, such as the Cappelletti Gallery in Milan and the Correggiari Foundation for Telethon Italia in Bari. Many of her works are on show in several private collections in Italy, France, England, Switzerland, China and the United States of America.
