Vita / Lebenslauf:
I was born in a farming town in South Africa in 1972. I live in a sea-side village, Kalk Bay, Cape Town, where I teach from home and make art. Most of my artworks is a result of my effort to create and dismember my current existence, influenced by people, the news and general society. The images I draw represent my astonishment with this carnival called life. I studied art at the University of Tshwane and completed my Master's Degree in Fine arts at the University of Stellenbosch in 2000. To keep the wolf from the door, I taught art at a high school and later Production Design at tertiary level before finally committing to do art full time. The wolf returns every now and then... I have participated in various group shows nationally and abroad. My first solo show was in 2000, followed by another in 2006 and 2007, 2008. My works can be found in various collections in America, Britain, Germany, Switzerland and South Africa. I have also participated in several competitions, and won the Vuleka (means "to open doors" in Xhosa) in 2007. The prize was a trip to Paris which I visited in July and August 2007.
Aktivitäten / Ausstellungen:
I'm currently working on my first ever solo show in Paris February 2009. It is at the Edgar Gallery, 21, rue de Verneuil, 75007 PARIS,
