Making Art Spontaneously
Born in Zagreb, Croatia, Leyla moved to London at the age of 18 where she studied, worked for fifteen years. Yorkshire is her second UK home where she spent the last 20 years working, painting and bringing up her family.
Her art reflects her lively and inquisitive nature; her ability to juxtapose colours like events in her life and different places she lived and grew up in.
�Yorkshire, for me represents a wonderful backdrop (not unlike a blank canvas) where I can find the inspiration and the freedom to express myself. My best inspiration comes from walks through beautiful Yorkshire countryside.�
� In her work Leyla negotiates relationships between her inner self and the landscape of her experiences . Her colourful compositions can attract a contemplation on a deeper level or serve as visual treats to uplift the mood.
