Vita / Lebenslauf:
I believe in what Picasso said, "There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterward you can remove all traces of reality."
Meeting people and watching people has always been a passion of mine. Painting them is a true love. I find that a figure can be a source of great beauty and always a new challenge for me to paint. Oil is my chosen medium because like people it has so many facts to explore. Whether it is a hand, a foot, a women breast , or someone’s stomach, I incorporate a sense of the person through colour and form. I like to draw my viewers into my work and capture the human beauty.
It is my job as an artist to create works of art that I feel some deep connection or meaning with, and creatively express it through palette knife ''mestichino'', material application and color, so that in the end a part of myself shows through my work, as well as the meaning behind it.
I realise that the viewer may also interpret my use of colour, abstract shapes and textures as visual metaphors for contemporary life.
