Statement:
In the summer, 2007, I started a series of works called READY. It all began with drawings. The drawings that were being created on a terrace. That terrace was my only workspace then. I wasn’t interested in what I saw from it. I only wanted to find out what had brought me in that situation. I was determined to do my drawings with the most basic materials – pencil, paper, cardboard, oil pastel, spray. The very fact that I was without adequate working space seemed to scream at me, emphasizing an absurd predicament – there I was, working on the terrace; the autumn was coming.
Evacuation. Movement. The movement under force. Insecure position. Limitation. Change of place/location. Ready… what is that stuff that makes us be “ready”?
