Statement:
Bridget is a sculptor who generally uses traditional methods to develop a highly individual approach to figurative sculpture that is earthy, joyful and spirited.
Vita / Lebenslauf:
Bridget Heriz trained at Goldsmiths College and Ravensbourne College of Art and Design, after which she returned to East Anglia, where she grew up, to work at Clock House Fine Art Studios, followed by a period supporting her practice through part-time teaching. She moved to Great Yarmouth in 2002.
Bridget has sculpture in the Women’s Art Collection at Newhall College, Cambridge and in the Ipswich Borough Collection and has featured in the Anglia TV programmes ‘Moving Art’ (1991), ‘The Biz’ (2002) and ‘Artefacts’ (2003). Recently, she has exhibiting work in the touring Jerwood Drawing Prize 2008 and in the Romance exhibition at the Kowalsky Gallery, London, which is run by the Designer and Artists Copyright Society. Recent solo shows include New Cut Arts, Suffolk (2008), Chappel Galleries, Essex (2003) and Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich (2002), and recent mixed exhibitions include Chalk Hill Gallery (2009), Salthouse 06 and Targetfollow, Wembley, London (2005). Abroad she has shown in the VI International Exhibition, St. Petersburg (2003) and 10 ans de bouteille, La Louviere, Belgium (2002).
