Jiri was born in Prague and he lived in the United States, Australia and Germany.
He speaks three languages and uses his multi-cultural heritage and experiences to explore and express through his art.
Jiri has won several awards and is represented in private and corporate collections in Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, UK, USA, Germany, Singapore, Canada and Japan.
Jiri Bures is one of Czech's leading artists whose work has attracted international acclaim. His paintings present snapshots of contemporary life. His paintings are narrative in that they seem to be telling a story, but that story is open to the viewer’s interpretation. It is like watching a panned and scanned version of a widescreen film. There is a mesmerising interface in his work between past and present.
