Kunstart: Skulptur
Technik: Papier / Pappe
Statement:
I make drawing/sculpture hybrids with pencil, oil, pastel, acrylic paint, cardboard and other ephemera.
Vita / Lebenslauf:
I received my MFA from the School of Visual Arts. I have been included in exhibitions at the Liverpool Biennial of Contemporary Art in the UK, Kappatos Gallery, and E31 Gallery in Athens, Greece, and at White Columns in NYC. I am a Yaddo fellow and was chosen for the AIM Program at the Bronx Museum of the Arts, in 2008 with the accompanying exhibition, How Soon is Now. My work in the show was reviewed in Time Out NY and the New York Times. I live and work in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (U.S.)
I create works based on personal, architectural and historical motifs. Much of my new work involves my own image as an avatar for exploration of various subjects such as the socialization of girls of my generation and as a point of departure for the girl/woman’s own fantasy and psychological projection. My project is to unite hand drawing and printed images with sculptural objects made from painted cardboard, fabric and other ephemera.
