Kunstart: Skulptur
Technik: Bronze
Stil: Minimal / Konzeptkunst
Statement:
I work primarily in unique bronze castings ranging in scale from gallery works to site-specific installations and public commissions. I also fabricate in steel, aluminum and mixed media.
Sculpture brings forth the primacy of touch in a world overflowing with machine-made objects.
Vita / Lebenslauf:
I studied Southeast Asian archaeology at Vassar College and on the graduate level at the School of Oriental and African Studies, the University of London, England. My studio training was in New York at the Art Students League and the New York Studio School. During this time I worked under grants documenting dance.
Although I have exhibited in video, my focus now is sculpture and works on paper. I am fortunate to have representation in New York; Washingon, DC; Philadelphia; and, the greater Philadelphia area. I have completed 13 site-specific public art projects and private commissions; have been awarded 28 grants; and, have had six regional solo exhibitions.
I am a member of the Pennsylvania State Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC; and the National Association of Women Artists in New York, and its Florida Chapter.
